Corelle's train of thoughts is exactly what I'm thinking.

I just can't believe it.
Just one of them going to the police and the police would be forced to make at least a report and they would have an open case since then. Or is Canada different?

And how many of these videos would have ended up in the internet.
Even if no one of the visitors liked him, some of them would have used the opportunity to gather 5 minutes of fame for themselves.

I can't believe it, unless this takes place in an alternative reality. Edit: Otherwise it would mean that "basic criminal protocol" was off. And that would mean: Law of the Jungle.

It is not our world Rock. The Serious Engineering-verse is slightly different. More advanced tech with a slightly different media than we have. They still follow the insanity that is identity politics, but follow that as more important than white on white murder. Especially when the one killed with viewed as a total loon. To them it is just a crazy took down a crazy. (Actually, that is not so different from how our meida functions.)

Not sure what country you're from but either you're incredibly sheltered and idealistic or you live in some sort of utopia.
Thousands of crimes go unpunished, unreported, unnoticed because some rapper's death or celebrity wedding is much more interesting. No one would even waste their breath at this.

RockB stated s/he's from Germany. So am I and I totally share the sentiment.

I started to write something lengthy in response but argueing in the internet is rather pointless in my opinion. RockB, you are not alone and all others remember, you've always got a choice: celebrity wedding or quality journalism.

I don't agree that people don't care, it's that corporates news doesn't want them to care. They often just ignore they stories or bury them under other more shallow stories or present them in away that makes those in authority look good. For the last one look up the phrase "violence broke out after" on google. You see all kinds of stories about police shootings or Jerusalem bombing Palestinians, and they are always framed in away to make it seem that violence committed by authority figures isn't violence, but the reaction to that violence is the actual violence.
