At least he is affected by what he has had done. If he was not he would be a psycopath. This shows that he is more of a pragmatist with quite a bit of sociopath.
It is interesting to finaly see the exterior view of what was done to save him from the virus he had as a child. Is he the only survivor of the disease is a question.

more or less why I tacked on "for some reason" to the end. Thought it was wrong but couldn't stop seeing the possibility. ... fucking hell that's a lot of seepage *squints* I think that's fluids anyway. Looks like his entire spine's more or less been... not replaced but... fucking hell blanking on the right terms. Looks like they did the equivalent of just building a new highway right over where the old one was without demolishing it, piggy backing on the already there infrastructure that's still sound. Hips got reinforced... Growing up with that must've put his pain tolerance through the roof.

It does explain his painkiller addiction mentiond in other places.
